Supporting our School
The Eatons Hill State School P&C is the group of parents, teachers and interested community members who want to help make our great school even better.
The P&C runs various programs and businesses for the benefit of students and parents which includes the Out of School Hours Club the Uniform Shop, the Tuckshop, and support the CBA School Banking program with our group of wonderful helpers who volunteer weekly to process our children's banking.
Together, the committee and its members strive to both make our school the best that it can possibly be, and to deliver quality teaching and learning experiences for our students. We also aim to provide a conduit of communication so that feedback and ideas can be shared between parents and the school executive.
We encourage school and community spirit with several events throughout the year where people can become involved and have fun while raising funds to support the school.
Events that the P&C have run include:
- Space Carnival (fete)
- Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day stalls
- Volunteer Thankyou Morning Tea
- Sausage Sizzles
- Trivia Nights
- Working Bees
- Student Disco
In addition, we regularly submit grant applications which provide for technology upgrades and capital improvements around the school. Over the last couple of years the big year event for the P&C has been the annual SPACE event – School and Community Carnival.
Providing a helping hand.
Many excellent facilities have been supported financially by the Parent’s and Citizen’s Association. The P&C makes regular generous financial contributions to purchase additional educational resources and technology equipment.
Parents involved in the P&C help make decisions about how the funds are raised and support the school in deciding how these funds are utilised. Over the last three years the P&C has contributed over $1.6 million to the school.
For many years the P&C raised funds to build a new school hall and this was achieved in 2011 with the assistance of the nationwide school hall funding program. Parents may not realise however that the P&C has contributed $1.288 million towards the hall and sports centre construction and fit out.
The P&C has always made an annual cash contribution towards the school budget of $20,000 however in recent years has also contributed further funds towards specific projects.
